The Clippers were defeated by Utah Jazz in a battle between two potential Western Conference power-houses... What a defensive team the Jazz is; not since the Detroit Pistons of 1989-90 have I seen such an awesome defensive team... they switch on everything; stick to you like glue; contest everything... just a beautiful defensive showpiece to watch.
This game was actually quite close; with the Clippers even taking the momentum into the second half. However, the Jazz broke it wide open in the third quarter with a superlative performance at both ends of the court. Spearheaded by Mike Conley; who was in another stratosphere today; the Jazz overwhelmed the Clippers with a barrage of three-point shots and defensive intensity. Everyone was hot; and with the Clippers without their two best two-way players in Kawhi Leonard & Paul George; they struggled manfully but came up short.
It might be early days in the season; but I would not be at all surprised if these two teams contested the Western Conference Finals this season. One more thing: one of the biggest mysteries in life is how Donovan Mitchell is not an All-Star...
