Clippers Go Grizzly Over Memphis

This was a super-tough game for the LA Clippers. Down by ten with about six minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Clippers produce a stirring comeback to edge out the Grizzlies with the final play of the contest. This was as tough as they come; a game that swung back and forth; tight basically from opening minute till the last.

The Grizzlies were young and hungry; playing with an innocent bravado that threatened to upset the favourites Clippers. Behind Ja Morant's excellent second half and the outstanding play of center Jonas Valanciunas, the home team came within a whisker of creating a huge upset. In the end, the three-point shooting of Paul George, defense of Patrick Beverley and decisive offensive rebound by Montrezl Harrell just about secured the win for the Clippers.

And it was Lou Williams who was the Player of the Game. The Memphis native overcame a slow start to put up 24 points with a career-high 13 assists. Down the stretch, 'Mr. Fourth Quarter' seemed to come up with the big play every time the Clippers needed it. Not surprisingly, Sweet Lou is once again the front-runner for the Sixth Man of the Year award.
