Real Drama

Real Madrid; already suffering from a shock opening defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk on opening night; had to come back late with a 92nd minute equaliser to draw 2-2 with German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

The hosts profited from some sloppy Madrid defending to go two up within the hour; with Marcus Thuram; son of French World Cup-winning legend Lilian; getting both goals. His combination upfront with Alassane Plea continues to bear fruit; with both goals set-up by his strike partner.

Madrid were labouring to get back into it; and it was only the introduction of Luka Modric & Eden Hazard that seemed to spark the revival. To their credit; they never gave up; and when Karim Benzema acrobatically volleyed into the net on 87 minutes; it seemed a comeback was on.

And it was Modric who looped in the fateful cross on 92 minutes; with Sergio Ramos heading down beautifully for Casemiro to smash home and rescue a point from the jaws of defeat.
