Josep Guardiola has extended his contract with Manchester City; prolonging what s perhaps the 'greatest marriage in football history'; with the greatest club in the world linking up with perhaps the greatest manager in the world.

We remembered how at the start City were taken over by super-rich benefactors; almost instantly becoming a super-rich club to rival the elite; bringing in world stars of the likes of Yaya Toure; Robinho & Sergio Aguero. To complete their project; they brought in the best manager in the world Guardiola; to fulfill their dreams; and by and large it has worked.

Under his unique brand of possession football honed in the annals of Barcelona; City became one of the greatest sides in the world; playing an exotic; scintillating brand of football that you could really salivate over.

The only area he is currently lacking would be the UEFA Champions League; with City as yet unable to penetrate the deeper throes of the competition. Last season seemed to be a great chance; but they were unbelievably upset by the Kings Of Lyon in an unforgettable affair.
