This was exemplified in last nite's 1-3 capitulation at home to Manchester City; who themselves seem to have found a run of of form that has taken them to 5th in the league with games in hand. What will have worried Chelsea was the seeming ease with which City managed to cut through them; particularly in a shellacking first half that saw Ilkay Gundogan; Phil Foden & Kevin de Bruyne score through in a 3-0 half-time lead.
Question marks are now being raised about Frank Lampard's continued viability as Chelsea manager; with the board rumored to be considering other big names such as recently-sacked Thomas Tuchel. Reports are also rumouring around a supposed disconnect between Lampard & some of his players; while questions are now being asked about the form of their big-money summer signings Timo Werner & Kai Havertz.
It all comes down a bit sad for Chelsea manager Lampard; who was such a iconic figure at Chelsea during their glory years uder Roman Abramovich; and time will tell if he can steady the boat.
