Power Play

Liverpool & Manchester City played out a high-quality; end-to-end 2-2 draw that was a spectacle for the Premiership; exactly what we would have wanted. There were shades of the epic Liverpool-Newcastle 4-3 game years ago; such was the riveting; end-to-end nature of it.

Liverpool took the lead twice and must have thought they had it; only for City to show their mettle and come back twice; the second epitomised by Kevin de Bruyne's left-foot shot that deflected off Joel Matip past Alisson.

We saw some classy Maradona-type moves; notably from the immense Bernardo Silva and the magnificent Mohamed Salah; who scored a quite world-class second goal; and we also saw some controversy including a supposed foul/no-foul on James Milner on Phil Foden; and another second-yellow controversy when Milner took down Silva after he'd already been booked. Of course; there was also some mad gesticulating from Josep Guardiola; who was convinced Milner should have gotten a second yellow and even voiced his 'biasness' about Anfield in the post-match interview.

At the end of the day; City would feel a tad happier with this result; notably coming off a gargantuan week that saw them play two earlier away games against Chelsea & PSG. For Liverpool; they remain in a good position in the league; and having taken the lead twice; may feel a tad unlucky not to have come away with all three points.
