So come this repeat match-up at Target Center; one would be forgiven for expecting the T-Wolves to gain some measure of revenge. And they started like they did; surging ahead of the Clippers with some hot long-range shooting and incessant defence to take a 20-point first-half lead.
But in the blink of an eye; as is the beauty of the NBA; things suddenly changed in the second half. Behind a more concerted effort from the Clippers; they started chipping away at the lead; and the home side suddenly became edgy and nervous.
Before you knew it; it was the Clips who were surging ahead; increasing the intensity of their defence and drawing fouls on the way to the hoop. In the end; they managed to control the destiny of the match and towards the end; both teams signaled the end by changing all their reserves.
Ivica Zubac was the standout player in this one. Totalling 14 points & 14 rebounds; the Croatian center was a monster on both ends of the court. Whether it was altering shots in the lane; diving on the floor for the loose ball; or picking up offensive rebounds; the center was the decisive spark for the Clippers tonight.
