Toffees Kena Stung

Everton's floundering season took a turn for the worse; this time suffering a 0-1 defeat at newly-promoted Brentford; themselves going through a rather dodgy spell of late. Truth be told; this was not the greatest contest in the world; with both sides looking like they were struggling for form (which they were, of course).

In the end; it took a rather innocuous lunge from Andros Townsend on Frank Onyeka that proved the difference; leading to striker Ivan Toney scoring the resultant penalty. Even though Everton did turn up the intensity & possession in the second half; they did not create an awful much; save for a few chances from striker Salomon Rondon.

For Brentford; it continues their excellent start to their inaugural Premiership campaign; and surely they are too good to go down. For Everton though; it's proving to be a rather nervy turn of the season; with manager Rafael Benitez coming under increasing pressure from the Everton faithful.
