Sterling Effort For City

Raheem Sterling continued his recent run of hot form with a cool penalty; to ensure Manchester City maintained their lead at the top of the standings heading into this weekend's action.

Truth be told; it was not a champagne City performance this time around; as though they had the lion's share of possession; they did struggle somewhat to create many clear-cut chances against a well-organised Wolves defence. In fact; if Raul Jimenez had not gotten himself sent-off for a silly 'not backing off'' offence; who knows what would have happened?

In the end; City did just abut enough to squeeze past this victory; but not after some nervy final moments that saw Maximilian Kilmer have two potential headed chances. There was some debate about their winning penalty though; as I thought it was never a handball against Joao Moutinho.
