A Ton Of Hits

One of the most widely-anticipated countdowns of the year is surely the 987FM Top 100 Songs of the Year. And while Olivia Rodrigo's excellent 'Drivers License' was not a big surprise at No. 1; there were other surprises; notably Troye Sivan's 'Angel Baby' coming in at only No. 67 and perhaps more surprisingly; Imagine Dragon's popular 'Follow You'; coming in at only No. 87.

Justin Bieber as expected is well-represented in the charts with 'Peaches'; 'Anyone'; and 'Hold On'; but surprisingly the superior 'Ghost' is not in the list at all. And while Coldplay's Higher Power is at No. 45; it is quite a shock that their big-time collaboration with BTS; My Universe is not in the list at all.

Similarly; while Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits is reliably placed at No. 8; it is a huge surprise that the more superior 'Shivers' is not in the list at all. I am also slightly surprised that the romantic ballad 'This Is How You Fall In Love' by Jeremy Zucker & Chelsea Cutler fails to break the Top 10 at No. 21; but am happy that The Weeknd's prolific season sees the remix of Save Your Tears end up at a lofty No. 5.
