On this day almost 38 years ago; Cyndi Lauper released 'Time After Time'; a song renowned for its bitter-sweet harmony & nostalgic feel. It was so good it will be remembered for eternity; and was even immortalised in that seminal feel-good comedy 'Romy & Michele's High School Reunion' starring Mira Sorvino & Lisa Kudrow.
With it gaining major air-play in around 1984; it also cemented Cyndi Lauper as one of the golden acts of the generation; along with other hits such as 'All Through The Night' and the Goonies vehicle 'Goonies 'R' Good Enough'.
Which also strikes to mind that songs of that era are so good they will be remembered forever: such as 'Don't Dream It's Over' by Crowded House; 'Everytime You Go Away' by Paul Young; and 'Tarzan Boy' by Baltimora. Can the same be said of today's hits such as Justin Bieber's 'U Smile'; Olivia Rodrigo's 'Drivers License' or even BTS' 'Permission To Dance'?
