PSG dominated the match all night; but were continually frustrated by Real goal-keeper Thibaut Courtois; even from the penalty spot when Lionel Messi's attempt was saved. For the Spanish giants; it was rather disappointing from them as they played a rather defensive game; seemingly hoping to take it to a goal-less draw; for the second leg.
But the night was all about Mbappe. He was the danger-man all night; making dangerous runs and turns down the PSG left. He had already bamboozled Dani Carvajal; who made an unnecessary lunge to concede the penalty; and so stricken was the usually-reliable right-back that he was replaced by Lucas Vazquez towards the end. But it was Mbappe who shimmied between both him and Eder Militao to conjure up the magic for the late winner.
