Tough Moor

That dogged 1-0 win away at Portsmouth. That freezing night on Luton's plastic pitch. There are simply some victories a Championship-winning team has to go through; nights you don't play your best; but somehow come away with the three points: in this ultra-competitive league called the Premier League.

Well; this was certainly one of those games for Liverpool at Burnley; as they kept up the pressure on leaders Manchester City with a vital win. Burnley may be bottom of the league; but they haven't actually lost that many games. Their problem is they have only won 1 all season; and the problem is their lack of firepower upfront.

Sadly; that was to be the case again today. They may have sold off star striker Chris Wood to Saudi-backed Newcastle United recently; but they have brought in an able replacement in the 6'6" Dutch international Wout Weghorst. The former Wolfsburg player actually had a few decent chances to take the lead for Burnley; but unfortunately couldn't capitalise; otherwise the outcome of the game could well have been different.
