Southampton; one of the form teams of the tournament; did another inspired performance; this time at the Theatre Of Dreams no less; as they stunned heavyweights Manchester United in a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
For United; the same old problems surfaced again. .Again they were unable to hold on to a lead. Again they were unable to sustain a collective performance for 90 minutes. And again they were unable to create enough chances or take them for that matter.
On the contrast; we saw a Southampton team brimming with verve and power; encapsulated by the hardworking displays of Oriol Romeu and Armando Broja. This Southampton team are far from the one that capitulated 9-0 at their last visit to Old Trafford; they now have the confidence to match up with the best of them.
