I've said it before a thousand times: Russell Westbrook is the exact wrong man for the Los Angeles Lakers. They need a shooter to free up space inside for Anthony Davis & LeBron James; and Westbrook is a fast-breaker; not a shooter. He is also a ball-hogger who needs the ball to be effective; exactly the antithesis of what James & Davis need.

The errors in chemistry were plain for all to see; as the home Lakers put up a distorted performance to fall to their cross-town rivals; the Los Angeles Clippers 119-115 in their latest showdown. On the converse side; the Clippers; coming off two dispiriting losses against the New Orleans Pelicans & the Sacramento Kings; produced one of their best performances of the season; showing the energy and spirit that would take them home.

They were bolstered by a strong overall performance that saw six of their players score in double-figures; but the key elements were the hot three-point shooting of Luke Kennard & Marcus Morris Sr., who hit some clutch threes late in the game to seal the win. The latter even had an unbelievable four-point opportunity that proved the defining moment of this contest.
