They The Kings

Let's try this again: the Los Angeles Clippers have been blowing hot & cold this season; tremendous comeback wins have been met with shocking home losses to lowly opposition. During this 6-game home-stand; it was a chance for the Clippers to set their stall and improve their so-far shaky 11-10 record. It did not go according to plan as the Clips went behind to a 2-3 record; with their latest setback a demoralising defeat to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans; who were inspired by Jonas Valanciunas' hot shooting.

Thus their final game was against another rather lowly team; the 8-14 Sacramento Kings; surely a strong victory would be in order here? Not quite. Yet again the Clips served to disappoint. Maybe they were too confident of this game; as they chose to rest superstar Paul George; along with the injured Kawhi Leonard & Nicolas Batum.

The Kings didn't want to know; they were just ready to play their game; and for large swathes of it; they set the tempo with better movement; pace & direction. The Clippers struggled to stay with their more youthful opposition; and though they mounted a latish comeback; it was not quite enough. De'Aaron Fox; such an impressive young player; excelled again with 24 points and some key plays late on. He was aided & abetted by some strong performances from Terence Davis & Richaun Holmes.
