Fifty Shades Of Gray

Demarai Gray rescued Everton with an 88th minute equaliser from a brilliant Jordan Pickford pass; just when it seemed that new boys Nottingham Forest were to pull off a stunning victory at Goodison Park; thanks to Brennan Johnson's composed finish.

It wasn't the best of games; but did spring to life in the final 20 minutes. Everton did grow into the match; but couldn't quite take the chances when they presented itself; notably from Tom Davies' two chances in the first half.

Forest showed what a good side they are; organised and resilient; and for large parts of the match; they were the equals to Everton. Dean Henderson is a massive signing for them; and kept them in the match with some stunning saves; notably when Anthony Gordon found himself through after a mistake from defender Joe Worrall.

In the end; both sides will be happy with the point. Forest may have felt they could have got away with all three; but for Everton; they will know that better performances will have to lie ahead in their quest for survival.
