Liverpool did have their chances though; and late on Jordan Pickford came to the rescue with a string of brilliant saves to keep the scores level. Everton actually had the ball in the back of the net through Conor Coady; but he was adjudged to be offside after the cross from Neal Maupay. Everton were also buoyed by the introduction of Idrissa Gueye; who came on late and never missed a beat.

Panic Attack
Everton and Liverpool played out a ferocious Merseyside Derby last night; with both teams intent on carrying on their good form and establishing local dominance. I must say Everton played surprisingly well; we were in their faces all the time and did not let them settle; and as the match grew on; it looked like they wee going to be the likely winners.
