The Brooklyn Boiler

Trouble is brewing in Brooklyn; after coach Steve Nash was sensationally dismissed from the team just days ago. One of the all-time great players of the NBA; Nash was a magnificent point guard for the Phoenix Suns; winning two NBA MVP awards and cementing his status that time as the best player in the world.

He was supposed to herald a revolutionary new era for the power-heavy Brooklyn Nets; who had megastars Kevin Durant; Kyrie Irving and James Harden in a 'can't-miss' situation; when it seemed the league's latest 'superteam' would be winning the NBA championship.

Around one year later; that dream could not be further from the truth; as the team has spun from one tailspin to another; leading to a host of 'how not to run a team' situations; and the dramatic departure of Harden for another potential problematic superstar in guard Ben Simmons.

After an underwhelming past season and a current 3-6 record; the team obviously felt that they had no choice but to sack Nash; a surprising choice bearing in mind one of the sharpest brains of the NBA could have led an equally stellar group to glory. Perhaps it proves again the adage that good players do not necessarily make good coaches; something we have all seen far too often.
