Swept Away

On a rain-soaked Champions League night in Lake Como; mighty Manchester United were swept aside 4-1; as Serie A upstarts Como produced the best performance in their history to stun the Manchester giants.

United may have underestimated Francesc Fabregas' men; but within 2 minutes it was the electric Nico Paz who cut in & fired a lovely left-foot curler for their first goal. United never looked likely in this one; as they were out-thought & out-fought by this hungry Como team that showed absolutely no respect.

Paz was the man of the moment; scoring two and providing one assist for striker Anastasios Douvikas to fire home. Substitute Kaiki Bruno then got in on the act; crossing from the left for centre-back Jacobo Ramon to head home Como's fourth. There was hardly any United support left when substitute Joshua Zirkzee stayed onside to fire home a late consolation. Como will remember this one for a long time to come,
